AbstractThe surgical management of irreparable rotator cuff tears has not been defined. Several surgical techniques have been described to address this problem including partial repair of the rotator cuff, tendon autograft, use of patch synthetic, tendon transfers or superior capsule reconstruction with fascia lata. The authors describe an original arthroscopic surgical technique with hamstring tendon autograft. Using this technique, the superior glenohumeral stability and function of the shoulder joint in irreparable rotator cuff tears can be restored.
